Portuguese club Sporting, featuring Russian player Ivan Chishkala, clinched the Futsal Champions League title for the 2025/2026 season. In the final match, Sporting defeated Spain’s Palma 2-0. The tournament was held in Pesaro, Italy.
Diogo Santos opened the scoring in the 4th minute, and a Palma player scored an own goal for Sporting’s second. The Russian athlete was involved in one of the goals. With the score at 1-0, Chishkala pressured an opponent, causing the ball to deflect off the defender’s foot into the empty net. The final protocol recorded it as an own goal. In the 39th minute, the Russian hit the crossbar.
Sporting secured their third Futsal Champions League title in history. The 30-year-old Chishkala, representing the Russian national team, has won a silver medal at the World Cup and both silver and bronze medals at the European Championships.
