
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Grand Junction secured a spot in the state semifinals in Denver after edging Telluride 9-7 in a hard-fought quarterfinal battle.
The Tigers and Miners traded goals throughout the contest, with neither side able to build a significant lead for much of the game. Telluride consistently answered Grand Junction’s scoring runs, keeping the pressure on in a physical, back-and-forth duel from start to finish.

Grand Junction seized control in the fourth quarter, taking a 7-6 lead with seven minutes remaining. The Tigers’ defense then tightened, limiting Telluride’s scoring chances while adding two crucial late goals to seal the win.
The defensive stand in the closing stretch proved pivotal as Grand Junction held the Miners to just one goal over the final seven minutes.
With the victory, the Tigers keep their postseason run alive and advance to the semifinals.
