On Monday, May 11, Pari NN suffered a heartbreaking home loss to CSKA Moscow (1-2) in the 29th round of the Russian Premier League. The Nizhny Novgorod side held the lead until the 88th minute but conceded twice in stoppage time. After the final whistle, goalkeeper and captain Nikita Medvedev approached the stands and directed profanities at fans who had displayed banners in support of former head coach Alexei Shpilevsky.
Karasev addressed the incident in a video posted on his Telegram channel: “I want to apologize to the fans for the situation involving our captain Nikita Medvedev. His emotions got the better of him after such a bitter defeat. I want to emphasize that every bit of support—every banner, every chant—is crucial to us right now. We all want to win, and there are no indifferent people among us. The team fought and gave their all today, but unfortunately we lost. We are now preparing for the match against Rubin Kazan. We will arrange transportation for our fans, and let’s believe in victory until the very end.”
After 29 matches, Pari NN sits 15th in the league table with 22 points, remaining in the relegation zone. In the final round of the season on May 17, the team will travel to face Rubin Kazan away.
