Dreamland Gran Canaria has reversed its decision and will not sign Ondrej Balvin. The Spanish club, currently fighting to avoid relegation in the ACB League, announced that it has definitively ruled out adding the 33-year-old Czech center to its roster.
“Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria has decided not to sign the Czech pivot after the trial period agreed by both parties expired,” the club stated in a brief press release.
Balvin, who trained with the team for an intense week, has been discarded and will not wear the claret uniform in the four remaining regular-season ACB games. Standing at 2.17 meters, the center had previously played for Gran Canaria nearly a decade ago, and his most recent stint was with the Hong Kong Bulls. However, after evaluating his performance, the club remained unconvinced and chose not to commit, opting instead to continue searching for an urgent reinforcement in the frontcourt.
