CSKA Moscow posted a joint photo of goalkeeper Vladislav Torop and Brazilian defender Joao Victor on their Telegram channel, showing the pair smiling and giving thumbs up, after a heated exchange during the 29th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Pari Nizhny Novgorod.
Midway through the first half, following a play, the Brazilian voiced complaints to the goalkeeper, leading to a verbal confrontation that nearly escalated into a physical altercation. The referee and teammate Dmitry Barinov had to intervene to separate them.
“No conflicts 🤝🏻,” read the caption in CSKA’s post.
The match ended with a 2:1 victory for CSKA, who scored two late goals. It marked the first win for the team under interim head coach Dmitry Igdisamov, who replaced Fabio Celestini on May 4. The victory keeps CSKA in contention for a top finish in the league standings, though they remain outside the top three. The incident and subsequent reconciliation highlight the team’s ability to move past internal tensions and focus on results.
